A resume that applicant tracking software can convert to text accurately: one column, standard section headings, real text (not images), simple bullets, and dates and contact details in the main body.
Is PDF or Word better for ATS?
Most modern ATS read both well if the PDF contains real text. Follow the job post: if it asks for Word (.docx), send Word. Our builder gives you both.
Do ATS reject resumes automatically?
Most ATS do not reject resumes on their own; recruiters filter and search them. A resume that parses badly or lacks the right keywords is simply harder to find.
Can a resume score guarantee I pass the ATS?
No. Every ATS and employer is different. A checker can point out known problems, but no tool can guarantee acceptance.
