The sales job market in UAE

Sales jobs exist in almost every UAE sector, most of all in Dubai, followed by Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Key hiring sectors include real estate, automotive, FMCG and distribution, building materials, medical devices and pharma, technology and telecoms, and retail and hospitality.

Employers want clear numbers: target achievement, new accounts, portfolio size and ranking within the sales team. Without numbers, a sales CV looks like every other one.

Field sales is very common, so a UAE driving licence is explicitly requested in many ads. Languages are a real advantage: Arabic matters with local clients and government accounts, while Hindi, Urdu, Russian or Chinese can make a difference in retail, real estate and tourism.

Local or GCC market experience is valued because it suggests you have contacts and understand how buyers work here. List CRM tools such as Salesforce, Zoho or HubSpot if you have used them. See also the UAE CV guide and the general sales CV page.

Licensing and certifications

Most UAE sales roles do not require a professional licence, but a few special cases matter:

Any permit or licence on your CV must be genuine; it will be verified during hiring.

Tips for a sales CV in UAE

1. Lead every bullet with a number

Target percentage, new accounts, outlets covered. "Achieved 118% of target" beats "Responsible for sales" every time.

2. Name your market and customers

Say who you sell to (contractors, hotels, supermarkets, consumers) and in which emirates. It shows you know the market.

3. State your licence clearly

Write "UAE driving license" in personal details if you hold one. If you do not, do not imply otherwise.

4. Treat languages as a key section

List each language at its real level. In the UAE an extra language can open a whole sector.

5. Keep it short and focused

One or two pages at most, in a clear template like Bold or Modern. Recruiters skim, so put your best results at the top.

CV norms in UAE

Photo◐Common and accepted, especially in hospitality, sales and aviation. Keep it professional.
Nationality✓Usually included, as it affects visa and hiring procedures.

LanguageⓘMostly English. Arabic is a strong plus in government and customer-facing roles.

FAQ

Should I put salary or commission on my CV?

No, that belongs in the interview. Focus your CV on results and target achievement.

I do not have a UAE licence. Can I apply for field sales?

You can, but be honest on your CV. If you are working towards a licence, mention it in the interview.

My experience is retail only. Does it work for B2B?

It can, if you highlight shared skills such as negotiation, relationship building and targets, with clear numbers.

Should I add a photo?

Optional, and many sales employers like to see one. If you add it, keep it professional.
