How to write a strong cover letter
- Open with the role you are applying for and the company name.
- Pick one or two real achievements that relate directly to the job.
- Link your skills to the ad’s requirements using its own words.
- Close politely, ask for an interview and add your contact details.
Cover letter structure
Opening
The role, where you saw it, and one sentence on why you fit.
Middle
One or two real achievements, with numbers if you have them, tied to the ad’s key requirements.
Fit
Why this company, and what you will bring.
Close
Thanks, a request for an interview, and your email and phone.
Common mistakes
- Repeating your CV word for word instead of picking the two strongest points.
- One generic letter for every company, or forgetting to change the company name.
- Claiming skills or achievements you do not have.
- A letter longer than one page.

FAQ
Will the letter contain made-up information?
The tool is designed to use only the experience and skills in your CV and connect them to the ad. Anything unknown is left in [brackets] for you to complete. Review the letter before sending it.
How long should a cover letter be?
250–350 words in 3–4 paragraphs: why you are applying, your most relevant experience, matching skills and a polite close.
Should I write a different letter for each job?
Yes. A letter tailored to the company and role stands out far more than a generic one, which is why the tool asks for the title, company and job ad.
Do I have to send a cover letter?
If the ad asks for one, yes. If not, a short, tailored letter still sets you apart, especially at larger companies and for jobs abroad.
Should I send it in the email body or as an attachment?
If you apply by email, paste the letter into the email body and attach your CV as a PDF. If the application site has a cover letter field, paste it there or upload it as a PDF.
Arabic or English?
Usually the language of the ad. Most private companies in Egypt and the Gulf prefer English, while some government bodies ask for Arabic.
