Image to text (OCR)

Pulls the text out of a photo or scanned page so you can copy and edit it instead of retyping. It supports Arabic with English, English alone, and Spanish. The image stays in your browser, though the first run downloads the OCR library and language data from a public CDN.

FAQ

Why is the first run slow?

It downloads the Tesseract library and language files the first time. Later runs are usually faster.

The result has mistakes. Is that normal?

Yes, especially with tilted, blurry or dim photos and handwriting. Shoot the page flat in good light, and always proofread.

Can I use a PDF?

No, it accepts images only. Turn PDF pages into images first with the PDF to JPG tool.
