How to write a human resources manager resume

1. Tie HR work to business results

Leaders want to see how HR helped the company. Turnover, time to fill, engagement scores and cost savings make your impact clear.

2. Show the size of your scope

State how many employees you supported, how many locations and the size of your team.

3. List certifications only if earned and current

SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR and SPHR are respected credentials. Include them only if you hold them and they are active, or label them clearly as in progress.

4. Protect confidentiality

Describe employee relations work in general terms. Never include names or details that could identify employees or cases.

5. Mention compliance knowledge carefully

Name the laws and areas you work with, such as FMLA or ADA, without overstating legal expertise.
